OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF ROLE
- Accountable for the implementation and maintenance of relevant systems and controls within the factory that ensure product safety, legality and quality.
- Delivers leadership to the site Technical, Quality and Hygiene
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Customer (retailer) & third-party compliance. • Allergen & speciation control. • Foreign body risk reduction.
- Quality monitoring.
- Hygiene monitoring.
- HACCP.
- TACCP.
- Deputise for Group Technical Controller
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures that all site-based activities are fully compliant with customer (retailer) and third[1]party requirements.
- Actively identifies foreign body contamination risks and strives to reduce and/or eliminate.
- Conducts continuous reviews of product and process in order to maintain product quality.
- Conducts continuous reviews of process hygiene in order to maintain product quality.
- Provides effective input as a HACCP team member for the site.
- Provides effective input as a TACCP team member for the site.
- Takes ownership of relevant KPI reports and scorecard completion.
- Leads technical reviews across the Division.
- Responsible for ensuring that all relevant site-based accreditation is maintained.
- Delivery of business strategy in quality and welfare on site
- Ensure effective communications at all appropriate levels.
- Contribute to relevant meetings relating to role responsibilities.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities as required.
ABOUT YOU
- Protein experience is essential
- Food-related HND/BSc qualification
- Excellent IT and administrative skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Confident telephone manner.
- Clear and calm communication skills – both phone and written.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Level 4 food safety qualification
- Level 3 HACCP qualification
- Ability to communicate confidently and effectively, internally & externally at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to report accurately.
- Structured and organized approach/ways of working.
- Good team working skills.
- Proactive attitude to work and process improvements.
- Good people skills, ability to listen and accept and learn from constructive criticism
