OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

  • Accountable for the implementation and maintenance of relevant systems and controls within the factory that ensure product safety, legality and quality.
  • Delivers leadership to the site Technical, Quality and Hygiene

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Customer (retailer) & third-party compliance. • Allergen & speciation control. • Foreign body risk reduction.
  • Quality monitoring.
  • Hygiene monitoring.
  • HACCP.
  • TACCP.
  • Deputise for Group Technical Controller

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures that all site-based activities are fully compliant with customer (retailer) and third[1]party requirements.
  • Actively identifies foreign body contamination risks and strives to reduce and/or eliminate.
  • Conducts continuous reviews of product and process in order to maintain product quality.
  • Conducts continuous reviews of process hygiene in order to maintain product quality.
  • Provides effective input as a HACCP team member for the site.
  • Provides effective input as a TACCP team member for the site.
  • Takes ownership of relevant KPI reports and scorecard completion.
  • Leads technical reviews across the Division.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all relevant site-based accreditation is maintained.
  • Delivery of business strategy in quality and welfare on site
  • Ensure effective communications at all appropriate levels.
  • Contribute to relevant meetings relating to role responsibilities.
  • Undertake any additional responsibilities as required.

ABOUT YOU

  • Protein experience is essential
  • Food-related HND/BSc qualification
  • Excellent IT and administrative skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Confident telephone manner.
  • Clear and calm communication skills – both phone and written.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  •  Level 4 food safety qualification
  •  Level 3 HACCP qualification
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively, internally & externally at all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to report accurately.
  • Structured and organized approach/ways of working.
  • Good team working skills.
  • Proactive attitude to work and process improvements.
  • Good people skills, ability to listen and accept and learn from constructive criticism
